Refund Policy

1. Our Commitment

At Curiosity Boost, we are committed to delivering high-quality services that meet your expectations. We understand that circumstances may arise where you need to cancel or request a refund, and we strive to handle these situations fairly and transparently.

2. Project Deposits

2.1 Purpose of Deposits

Deposits secure your project slot on our schedule, cover initial project planning, resource allocation, and preliminary work. They demonstrate mutual commitment to the project.

2.2 Deposit Refundability

  • Before Project Commencement: If you cancel before any work begins, we will refund your deposit minus a 15% administrative fee.
  • After Project Commencement: Once work has begun, deposits are generally non-refundable as they cover time and resources already committed.
  • Client-Caused Delays: If a project is significantly delayed due to client non-responsiveness (60+ days), the deposit may be forfeited.

3. Project Cancellation

3.1 Cancellation by Client

You may cancel a project at any time with written notice. Upon cancellation:

  • Payment is due for all work completed up to the cancellation date
  • Work completed will be delivered upon payment
  • Any unused portion of prepaid milestone payments will be refunded
  • Third-party costs already incurred (hosting, licenses, etc.) are non-refundable

3.2 Cancellation by Curiosity Boost

In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel a project. This may occur if:

  • Project requirements fall outside our ethical guidelines
  • Client becomes unresponsive for extended periods
  • Circumstances make project completion impractical

If we cancel, you will receive a full refund for any work not yet delivered.

4. Service-Specific Refund Terms

4.1 Website Design & Development

  • Design Phase: Refund for unused design rounds if canceled before completion
  • Development Phase: No refund for completed development work
  • Post-Launch: No refund after website goes live

4.2 Monthly Retainer Services (SEO, Marketing, Social Media)

  • Cancel anytime with 30 days written notice
  • Refund for any unused portion of the current month on a pro-rata basis
  • No refund for months already completed
  • Annual prepayment discounts are forfeited upon early cancellation

4.3 Mobile App Development

  • Milestone-based payment structure applies
  • Completed milestones are non-refundable
  • App Store submission fees are non-refundable

4.4 Branding & Identity

  • Refund available before first concepts are presented
  • After concept presentation, work completed is billable
  • Final brand assets delivered upon full payment only

5. Dissatisfaction with Work

If you are not satisfied with our work, we want to make it right. Our approach:

  1. Communicate: Clearly explain your concerns and specific issues
  2. Revise: We will make revisions within the agreed scope to address issues
  3. Mediate: If we cannot reach agreement, we may engage a neutral third party
  4. Partial Refund: In exceptional cases, we may offer a partial refund for disputed work

Note: Dissatisfaction must be communicated promptly. Issues raised more than 30 days after delivery may not be eligible for refund consideration.

6. Non-Refundable Items

The following are generally non-refundable:

  • Third-party costs (domains, hosting, stock photos, licenses)
  • Completed and delivered work
  • Rush fees for expedited work
  • Consultation fees for completed consultations
  • Custom development work that has been deployed
  • Administrative and setup fees

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Send an email to billing@curiosityboost.com
  2. Include your project name/number and invoice number
  3. Clearly explain the reason for your refund request
  4. Attach any relevant documentation

We will review your request and respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are typically processed within 10-14 business days to your original payment method.

8. Dispute Resolution

If you disagree with our refund decision, you may escalate the matter by:

  1. Requesting a review by senior management
  2. Engaging in mediation through a mutually agreed third party
  3. Following the dispute resolution process in our Terms of Service

9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Project-specific refund terms in your contract will take precedence over this general policy.
